Training and Experience
I have had the opportunity to work with leaders in the field of CBT and anxiety. I earned my Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology at Temple University under the direction of Dr. Richard Heimberg, an internationally recognized expert in CBT, social anxiety and generalized anxiety. I also trained with Dr. Jonathan Grayson, an authority in the treatment of Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder (OCD) using Exposure and Response Prevention. Additionally, I completed my Clinical Psychology Internship and Postdoctoral Fellowship specializing in Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) at the Palo Alto Veterans Affairs Health Care System. I began my career as a Research Associate at Stanford University, where I served as the primary clinical psychologist in Dr. James Gross' lab. At Stanford, I conducted CBT groups for socially anxious adults in a Randomized Controlled Trial, engaged in scholarly research, and trained and supervised post-baccalaureate and graduate students' clinical work. I I started my private practice over a decade ago in the San Francisco Bay Area. I have been in private practice in Boulder, CO for the past 7 years, providing in person and telehealth therapy for clients residing in a number of states. I also have co-authored a number of scholarly journal articles and book chapters regarding the cognitive underpinnings of anxiety and the impact CBT has upon them.
